For the past couple of years I have been searching for full width (4.5 inches) toilet paper. All of the brands I could find at the department stores had decreased in width by about 1/2 inch (while keeping the price the same). Nobody I know even noticed so I guess it worked. Multiply 1/2 inch by the billions of rolls sold and I'm sure they saved a ton of money. But I have full sized hands and I wanted full width toilet paper.I never really thought to check Amazon for toilet paper. I guess I figured, no way they could ship a quality toilet paper to my door for a reasonable price. It turned out I was wrong.I think it is fair to say that it is difficult to judge value when it comes to paper products because there are so many variables such as width, length, sheets, etc. Then some rolls are packed so loosely you are paying for air. To me, the best way is to weigh the rolls. I had an old roll of Scott, 4.5" (always a good value) which weighed in at 205 grams. The Boardwalk weighed the same, 205 grams per roll. The Boardwalk is double ply, 500 sheets while the Scott is single ply, 1000 sheets but you get the same amount of paper per roll with the Boardwalk or the old Scott brand at a very good price and it's the full (original) width if that matters to you. Just make sure you order the BWK6155 as Boardwalk also carries the narrow stuff.
